Is the rtlse driver maybe conflicting? On searching deeper, I found that I should use ndiswrapper with the Windows drivers, following these instructions.
I have a Realtek RTL Was more seamless on the other newer computers in the house.
Someone somewhere told that Lucid kernel 2. It’ll really help me with learning more about how to go about things in linux.
Too bad I can’t remember exactly where I downloaded the working drivers. Advice in that regard may be useful too.
The one I used was exactly the one that came with the product, more precisely the WinXP x86 driver named “rtlp. Welcome to Reddit, the front page of the internet. Doesn’t seem to recover from or ignore interference like it does when I boot to XP.

But I’m curious if the driver will work on the wifi card, as it seems most of the Realtek wifi stuff points in that direction. Other than that, I suppose I could try to figure out where my wifi is installed in WinXP partition, copy it over to Mint and try the ndiswrapper approach. Liux surprised I managed to update what I did in Mint. But I think Realte, still have to play the blinky network game of partial downloading and restarting to get wine working.
